It’s now illegal for a restaurant in California to serve foie gras. That is as it should be.

I enjoyed dining out like this in my former life, but the reverence was always a turnoff. Food should be joyful! As for waitstaff, the truly well trained server is invisible until her or his input is needed. That fuss over the check was inexcusable.
